And so it happens. You work your butt off on a fantastic artwork, fanfic, etc. and some jerk off decides to rip it off from you. In my case, I had this Nightmare Before Christmas fanart entitled 'Autumn Spirit' on my deviantart account and at the TNBC.eu website. Some guy on photobucket posts an image of this piece on his account. Now I have no idea how to contact him because I don't have an account.

I'm not very techno savy enough to know how to go about telling him to remove it. I want to talk to him first before I approach the authorities on the Photobucket website. Does anyone know how I can do this?

Eh, I wouldn't say it's theft unless the guy is claiming the stuff as his own work. Heck, even I have a bunch of pictures from other artists on my PicturePail account and they don't seen to mind or care X3 But yeah, if he's claiming the stuff as his own, THEN you should try contacting him. Until then, just take it as flattery that the person likes your work enough to save it and show it to his friends and such :3

Hmm, you got a point there. He never did claim it for his own work. Still I'd like a little credit by having him mention my name at least. Or at least him being courteous to ask whether he can post feature it or not.

But I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and just ask politely.

i would say contact photobucket as if people do go for the option of buy prints mugs etc he maybe taking money that should be in your pocket and if you have a creative license on the image i believe you would be in the right on this one

Im so sorry this happened to you.
Maybe some fool will do this with my art too.
I dont know yet, and maybe better, couse i would feel low and angry by that.
I should ask for help by my computer-wizz-buddy.

It's recently happened to me too. Some damned little bastard stole one of my TNBC creations

kindly advised me about that and sent me a link to talk to photobucket. It's very easy to talk to them and they delete very fast the stolen pic. Here's the link:

I don't know how you can talk to the stealer...I don't have a photobucket account either :/
